Knights of the Dinner Table: Illustrated was a 41 issue series produced by Kenzer & Co in the early Aughts spun off from the long-running RPG magazine and strip Knights of the Dinner Table. Focusing on the adventures of the game characters played by the main strip characters, it ventures into fun fantasy and tabletop RPG tropes as well as being exciting stories with familiar types. Brendon and Brian Fraim, comic book artists with their own classic yet unique style, drew the majority of the series, which is now being collected for the first time. Knights of the Dinner Table is a game magazine with extremely humble beginnings and just keeps moving. The comic strip of tabletop role players gaming their characters has grown to amazing depth, with a recently published issue 300. 300 issues of a monthly comic is an unusual accomplishment in present publishing mores, but to also be a game magazine puts it in a whole different scenario of amazment level. I welcome Barbara and Jolly Blackburn, principle creators of the magazine, to the show to celebrate.
