This show focuses on getting people to think about where our music-- and our stories -- come from. While it's impossible to completely untangle the world's web of musical roots, we will focus on undertaking the task one song, one region, at a time. Each show, we will travel to a different region of the world in order to focus on one folk song that has persisted throughout the centuries. What is the song's story? Where has it survived? Who has rediscovered it? What other music has this song inspired? Where can we hear it today? My intention in guiding listeners down the rabbit hole of music history is to help one reemerge with more questions than answers.
